Ngorongoro Crater Day Safari

Before Arusha is fully awake, we collect you for the westward journey through the Rift Valley and Karatu towards Ngorongoro's highlands. Have breakfast beforehand or make your own early meal arrangements, as the included meal is lunch as agreed before booking. Allow about 3.5–4.5 hours to the crater area, followed by entry formalities and descent. On the floor, your guide explores permitted routes through grassland, marshes and woodland, looking for buffalo, zebra and lions, with a chance of spotting a distant black rhino. Enjoy lunch at an authorised picnic site and further viewing within the permitted visit time. We then climb back to the rim and begin the long road journey to your Arusha hotel, arriving in the evening.

Ngorongoro Crater is a volcanic caldera whose enclosed scenery makes even familiar wildlife feel extraordinary. Its habitat variety is part of the appeal, but a visit never guarantees the Big Five. The rim can be cold while the floor becomes warm and bright, so wear layers and bring sun protection.
